On June 12, 2018, Governor Wolf signed House Bill 566, also known as the Prompt Pay Law, which amends Pennsylvania’s Contractor & Subcontractor Payment Act (CASPA). CASPA was enacted in 1994 to address construction industry payment abuses between owners, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. The new amendments allow a contractor or subcontractor to suspend work on the basis of nonpayment after certain contract conditions are met. These amendments will go into effect 120 days after the bill was signed.
During this webinar, attorneys Chris McCabe and Liam Braber will explain in greater detail how the amendments will impact the way contractors do business. Attendees will will learn the general procedure regarding their right to suspend work as well as the qualifications that must be met prior to suspension. This is vital workshop for all contractors looking to protect their business and their right to be paid for work performed.
