On Wednesday, September 13, M&SCA of Eastern PA Contractor Members joined our partners from the Steamfitters Local 420 as well as our counterparts at NECA Penn-Del-Jersey to meet with representatives from the American Petroleum Institute and their Oil & Natural Gas Industry Labor-Management Committee (ONGIL-MC).

The ONGIL-MC is a group of individuals that seek to advance public policy goals and promote technology that will drive job growth, forge coalitions with like-minded organizations, educate the public about their initiatives, and address long-term challenges facing the industry.  The board consists of several labor and management leaders from around the country, one of which is our UA General President Mark McManus.  Their main priorities consist of energy infrastructure, domestic energy exploration, and workforce development.

The conversation centered around the various ways the groups can work together to grow our market share, educate anti fossil fuel constituents, discredit baseless activism while conveying a pro-growth message, and potential marketing strategies to remedy the ever-growing workforce shortage.  Both the representatives from API and our local labor-management attendees were able to engage in productive discussions on these issues and more while forging a stronger partnership.
