M&SCA Tuition Reimbursement Program

The M&SCA’s Tuition Reimbursement Program supports salaried and trade union employees of contractor members who enroll in college, university and technical school courses in order to obtain a degree or certificate that improves their professional development. Eligibility and conditions for reimbursement are subject to change at the discretion of the MCA Board of Governors.

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The Tuition Reimbursement Program is available to all MCA and SCA member companies' employees who meet the eligibility requirements. Reimbursement is available for up to $2000 of tuition costs for degree and non-degree programs and up to 50% of the total tuition cost for the Drexel University Construction Management Certificate Program.


ELIGIBILITY
The applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements:
1. The applicant must be a full-time employee of an M&SCA member contractor who has contributed at least $2000 to the Industry Fund in two successive years preceding the date of application. Tradesmen or tradeswomen must be members of LU420 or LU690.
2. The applicant must be working within the jurisdictional area of the M&SCA.
3. The applicant may not be an owner or principal stockholder of the member company.
4. The applicant must be approved by a company principal.
5. Courses must be job-related and part of a degree, non-degree, or certificate program at an accredited college or university.
6. The applicant must continue employment with an M&SCA member contractor while participating in the Tuition Reimbursement Program.


CONDITIONS OF REIMBURSEMENT
1. Tuition Reimbursement Application must be submitted and approved no more than 30 days after the class begins.
2. The course must be completed with a grade of C or better.
3. Applicant must submit an official transcript and a paid receipt for course cost. Textbooks and admission fees are not to be included.
4. If any other forms of financial assistance are used for courses covered by this tuition reimbursement program, a copy of each other application must be submitted and reimbursement will be calculated accordingly.
5. A new application must be submitted for each semester.
6. Total reimbursement will not exceed $400 per semester and $2000 lifetime max.

CONDITIONS OF REIMBURSEMENT FOR DREXEL UNIVERSITY CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE
1. Tuition Reimbursement Application must be submitted and approved no more than 30 days after the class begins.
2. The course must be completed with a grade of C or better.
3. Applicant must submit an ​official transcript of completed course and paid receipt for course cost. Textbooks and admission fees may not be included.
4. If any other forms of financial assistance are used for courses covered by this tuition reimbursement program, copies of each other application must be submitted and reimbursement will be calculated accordingly.
5. A new application must be submitted for each course.
6. A 25% reimbursement will be paid after the completion of each course. An additional 25% of the total tuition cost will be paid following the completion of the certificate program. The $2000 lifetime max will not apply.
